Flashback Friday Luis Figo

He is arguably Portugal’s greatest son, although he faces some really stiff competition from legendary Eusebio and Cristiano Ronaldo. But still no one can deny the greatness of Figo.

He began his career at Sporting CP in Lisbon,Portugal. From then on, he went on to touch the skies as he played for Barcelona, Real Madrid and Inter Milan.

He had a trophy laden career at all his clubs. He was part of treble winning team of Inter Milan in 2009, which was his final season as a professional footballer.

Figo was a versatile forward. He could play anywhere in the attacking third seamlessly.

Figo is known for his footballing abilities, but he is also known for his controversial move to Real Madrid from arch rivals Barcelona for a world record fee of 70 million euros.

The Portuguese had an unlucky international career as he never got to taste glory with Portugal. He came very close in Euro 2004 in his homeland, but were shocked to the title by a stubborn Greece side.
