The 22-year old has already made a name for himself this World Cup with that very surprising toe-kick that scored the Brazilians a goal in their first match against the surprisingly strong Croatians, which secured his position in the starting 11 for the next match. A player of no great prominence before this match, Oscar delivered a performance that would not easily be forgotten. As an attacking midfield, he secured his team well by battling against the Croatian defence which was comprised of men who appear much sturdier than the slender Oscar. Looks aren’t everything, though, and Oscar did well alternating between attack and defence for his team. He is quick to intercept balls and pays very creatively. He has a keen eye for the ball and is able to create spaces through the defence of the opposing team.
