1. Gareth Bale played as a left-back for the Southampton youth team, which is his original position.

2. He played in the same Southampton youth team as Nathan Dyer and Theo Walcott before moving to Tottenham for a fee of 5million Pounds.

3. Gareth’s mother Debbie, is an operations manager and his father Frank is a school caretaker and former Fulham star and Welsh legend Chris Pike is his uncle.

4. Bale made his international debut for Wales at the age of 16. And he was the second youngest player to play for the Saints, the youngest being Theo Walcott.

5. It took 25 games for Bale to be on the winning side with Tottenham Hotspurs.

6. When Gareth was just 14, he ran a 100 metre sprint in an incredible 11.4 seconds.
