Mar 08, 2016 18:43

Did you know about The UEFA Women's Tournament Tournament that is taking place in Netherlands? France and Germany have qualified for the Summer Olympics and there is a mini tournament that is being held in Netherlands to determine who gets the third ticket to Brazil from Europe.

2 out of 3 rounds of the UEFA Women’s Olympic Qualifier Tournaments have taken place and its favorites Sweden who sit on top of the group with 6 points. Netherlands and Norway have secured 3 points each whereas “underdogs” Switzerland have been virtually eliminated from the tournament.

Sweden vs Norway ended 1 – 0 in the favour of the “fan favourites” Sweden who did well to defend their lead. Netherlands vs Switzerland ended 4 – 3 and the hosts won a hard fought match that saw all 7 goals being scored by 7 different goal scorers. Norway vs Netherlands was a one sided match which saw Norway bounced back from their defeat against Sweden by humbling the host 4 – 1. Sweden vs Switzerland was also a one sided affair which saw Sweden defeat Switzerland by one goal, the underdogs did well in their previous match but failed to get past Sweden’s defense to go goalless.

Sweden have virtually qualified for the next round as they need just 1 point unlike their opponents Norway and Netherlands who need a win in all cases to keep their hopes of qualifying for the Olympics alive. Norway and Sweden maintain a goal difference of 2 goals and Former side has the edge over Netherlands who have a goal difference of – 2. Table toppers Sweden face the Host Netherlands and 4th placed Switzerland face 2nd placed Norway. The 3rd round will be an interesting watch as 3 teams have kept their hopes of going to the Olympics Alive. Will Sweden Concede or maintain their Clean Sheet Record? Will the Host Nation Progress or Will Norway maintain their streak of Qualifying for all Olympics?
