Arsenal are ready to break bank for Mats Hummels

Arsenal are showing some intent as they look to bolster their side in order to challenge for the league this year. Reports of Arsenal signing a striker in January are in circulation for quite a while. But now it seems that they are also looking to bolster their defense.

According to Daily Express, The Gunners are lining up a £32m bid for the Borussia Dortmund defender. Wenger wants to pair him alongside Laurent Koscielny.

Hummels has been a Manchester United target for the entire summer, but it seems that Arsenal have gained an edge over their rivals. Lure of Champions League football is termed as their trump card. United have the financial muscle to topple the Gunners from the race.

But if the player decides to go for champions league football then, Arsenal are surely in pole position to land the German international as the player is reportedly seeking a move away from Ruhr to get himself a new challenge.
