Arsenal defeated by West Ham
A new dawn, a new era, a new start for West Ham United as they try to come out of the shadows of their top London rivals and boy didn't they do that yesterday. A two nil victory against Arsene Wenger's boys at Emirates with new signing Cech at fault for both.
It wasn't a start that Arsenal and Arsene Wenger expected after winning against Jose Mourinho for the first time in the community shield game. Wenger started with a typically strong team with West Ham's former player now manager Billic sitting in the dug out for the club.
The first fifteen minutes of the game saw Arsenal dominate proceedings as the likes of Santi Cazorla , Chamberlain and Arsenal front man Olivier Giroud found space behind the West Ham defence line. At this point of the game, it was visible West Ham coach Slaven Billic to tell his men to drop deeper in their half.
Entering into the half hour mark the game saw brilliant flashes of play from both sides especially from West Ham no.10 Zarate and Santi Cazorla as they both had their say in the run of things.
Arsenal clearly marshalling things in the midfield as Welsh Midfielder Aaron Ramsey came close twice with his trade mark long range shots .
Deadlock was finally broken when West Ham midfielder Kouyate headed home from a freekick, Mourinho would have something to smile about as Cech was found in no mans land as he came out of his area to pounce on the loose ball only to be beaten by the West Ham player.
Wenger obviously would've have had a lot to say in the dressing room as his men came out numbers flying around the West Ham box with West Ham deploying the same tactics as the first half, waiting for the men in Red and defending deep in their half.
Patience is really a virtue for the any away side as they took their chance with an individual effort from Zarate lashing
on a loose ball a little over 20yards to beat Arsenal goalkeeper Cech. Surly not a start the former Chelsea man would've dreamt off.
Key substitutions were made by the home side with the likes of Sanchez and Walcott being introduced into the game ,
obviously the pace of the game changed rapidly with Arsenal making good use of the left hand side of the field but lacked composure in the final third.
We must commend the composure that West Ham displayed when they regained possession, never looked nervous on the ball and passing the ball out of the danger area in a fashion we are accustomed to by the a Arsenal Side.
