Bayern Munich 3-2 FC Barcelona
Bayern Munich fought well to get three past Barcelona but the Catalans managed to get two goals on the night, knocking the Bavarians out of the Champions League in the process. Both teams showed some excellent individual displays and some brilliant team work, making this match more interesting than the first half. Even though the players managed to get past the keepers, Ter Stegen and Neuer made some stellar saves.
Mehdi Benatia gave Bavarians the lead by scoring an accurate header to get past Ter Stegen only after 7 minutes. Busquets and Ter Stegen could have done better to save that goal. Before Benatia beat the Barca keeper, the Catalans had played 367 minutes without conceding a goal in the Champions League.
Barcelona turned things around quickly as Neymar found the back of the net with a selfless pass from Luis Suarez. Suarez too was in a position from where he could have equalized but the South Americans combined well to get past Manuel Neuer in the 15th minute.
In a play similar to the first goal, Suarez once again found himself in the position from where he could have managed to get the lead, unselfishly passed the ball to Neymar who controlled the ball by his chest after which his shot found the back of the net in the 29th minute.
Lewandowski scored the equalizer for Bayern in the 59th minute with a great finish as he easily managed to dribbled past Javier Mascherano. He then took a brilliant shot into the bottom-right corner of the net easily beating Ter Stegen.
Muller then scored the winning goal for Bayern in the 74th minute with an incredible first time finish but the Catalonians had managed to cement their place in the finals.
