Bundesliga to use Goal-line technology from 2016

The German league has decided to follow the footsteps of Premier League as all the clubs have reached a consensus regarding the use of technology in football. Bundesliga will start using goal-line tech from 2016 onwards.

"I believe that this is a step forward for German football," said Reinhard Rauball, president of the German Football League.

Mainz 05 president Harald Strutz added: "The clubs have recognised that we can no longer ignore this technology development."

After a lot of deliberation, the technology has gained some acceptance after it has achieved significant success. Currently, goal line technology uses Hawk Eye system, which signals the referee within one second if the ball has crossed the line.
