Carvajal says "goodbye" to the League
Real Madrid made a semi-successful come back after being down by 2 goals against Valencia. However, even after giving it their best, Madrid ended up with a 2-2 draw.
Barcelona, on the other hand, went on to win 2-0 against their opponents Real Sociedad which put them in the driver’s seat. Barcelona now have a very crucial 4 point lead as both clubs have only 2 games remaining. Real Madrid’s chances of winning the league are looking slim as their rivals need to secure just one win from their remaining two games against Atletico Madrid and Deportivo La Coruna.
"At home we couldn't slip up, we've done that and we say goodbye to the league. It's painful because we wanted to fight until the final day, although we'll keep on doing that." Carvajal said
Real boss Carlo Ancelotti says that the current title holders will keep battling for the domestic title till the end but he is disappointment as things would get more difficult now.
"We have two games remaining and have to try and win both," the Italian said. "We'll keep going, but it is evident that things are more difficult now.
"We are disappointed with the result, but we have a lot of confidence with how we played. They gave everything they could."
The one major problem that Barcelona could face is the suspension of the Spanish league, it all rests upon the outcome of the hearing. Barcelona were also scheduled to play the final of the Spanish Cup but it too is dependent upon the verdict of the hearing.
