Elano signs for Chennai

Abhishek Bachan and Vita Dani co-owned company have managed to sign the Brazilian playmaker as they missed the chance to sign Ronaldinho who rejected Chennai for Mexico.

Elano who has vast experience playing in Europe and Brazil, is one of the players who'll add the samba flair in ISL.

The player has played 64 games and scored 14 for Manchester City, 10 of which came I the first season. He later joined the Ukrainian side Shaktar and played Champions League for the side.

Now a free agent, the playmaker has joined the southern side.

“I am happy that we have signed a world-class player. Elano has
always been one of our backup options. It was either Ronaldinho or
him,” Prashant Agarwal, CEO of Kshatriya Sports, the technical
partners of the Chennai franchise, was quoted saying by TOI .

Agarwal told the Hindu, “I sometimes feel it’s still a dream. But it’s

more exciting to live the dream. Elano is a great champion and he’ll
add Samba magic to team Chennai.”
