It was a good day for transfer in England yesterday with two big name strikers joining new clubs. One obviously was the big money signing which City completed, Swansea forward Bony joined them for a reported £28m fee.
The other news coming from the British Isle was, former England striker Jermaine Defoe coming back to England and wanting to play and resume his Premier league career.
Toronto FC and England striker Jermain Defoe has passed his medical with Sunderland before a proposed return to the Premier League.
The striker who moved to MLS side Toronto FC, and spent half a season playing for them, was feed up of the life in Canada and wanted a new challenge. With former experience of fighting relegation, led Sunderland wanting to sign the forward.
With Toronto club asking for a fee which proved too hefty for the Tyne-Wear club, they offered fellow American Jozy Altidor in a swap deal.
Defoe has reported had a medical and agreed personal terms with club, the signing can be expected any time soon.
