Louis van Gaal surely knows how to handle press and their constant probing questions. This time around he went a step further and played to the gallery. The Dutchman was addressing media before his side’s away trip to Leicester , where he acknowledged the fact that Ronaldo may return back to Old Trafford sfter six years in Santiago Bernabeu.
"Yes, but it's always a discussion in the papers, and I don't think the media shall buy Ronaldo," said Van Gaal .
When pushed on the matter again, the United manager said: "It is possible.”
He cited the example of new boy Radamel Falcao and drew parallels between the two transfers stating that if available, he will go for him.
"That's what I have said with Falcao. Players like Ronaldo give a lot of extra to a team, but I don't think Real Madrid shall sell him."
As reported by The Football Mind earlier, these reports are coming on the back of sensational quotes by former Real Madrid President Ramon Calderon, who said that the Portuguese is “fed up” in Madrid. Plus, the player himself has stated that he is always open for a return back to Manchester.
There is surely something more here than what meets the eye. Such is the case with all high profile transfer sagas.
