Its been barely two weeks since the transfer window slammed shut but the rumor mills are back in action. This time its surrounding the usual suspects in Manchester United. The Red Devils are rumored to make a move for Dutch midfield marshal Kevin Strootman in winter, if reports are to be believed.

It is not news for United fans but this time, the tale has a new twist. A section of British media are reporting that the deal would involve a certain Juan Mata will be going the other way round as a part of the Strootman deal.

Erstwhile Manchester United record signing Juan Mata is will have a tough time at Old Trafford after the signings of Di Maria and Radamel Falcao. Louis Van Gaal wants to test Roma's resolve by offering the attacking midfielder as an exchange. It is no secret that the Iron Tulip is a huge fan of his compatriot after managing him for the Netherlands.


Mata is also a subject of interest from Roma's Serie A rivals Juventus. But their interest is dependent on the club's Champions League fortunes. Juventus manager Massimilano Allegri is one of Mata's biggest fans and is looking to add a vibrant playmaker to his side for quite a while. They value the Spaniard around £20m who was bought for a fee of £37.1m just over 8 months ago.
