Mandzukic signs for Juventus
Juventus have signed Croatia striker Mario Mandzukic from Atletico Madrid for £13.6m.
"I like Juventus and I like the city [Turin]. I hope I will be happy here. I will fight for my new team," he said.
The Club announced the following news on their official website: ” Juventus Football Club can announce that an agreement has been reached with Atletico Madrid for the services of Mario Mandzukic, who has signed a four-year contract.A fee of €19 million, payable in three separate installments, has been agreed, with a potential extra €2 million to be added on if certain performance-related targets are met. “
Carlos Tevez’s move to Boca Juniors looks imminent and Diego Maradona added weight to the speculations when he posted “WELCOME HOME CARLOS TEVEZ!” from his account.
The 29-year-old had joined Atletico Madrid last summer after successfully completing his switch from Bayern Munich.
The forward had managed to score 11 goals in the first half of the season for the Spanish side. He scored four more in January, before a goal-less spell saw him go without a goal for 11 games until the end of the season.
There had been a lot of speculation over the Croatian player’s future following an ongoing dispute with Atletico coach Diego Simeone and Old Trafford seemed like a definite choice.
Earlier in June, Atletico coach Simeone said “He (Manzukic) annoys me easily, that's the reality. He is a great player and a decent lad. He himself is down about not maintaining the form he displayed up until February.”
