Report:

After a difficult start to life as a manager of the dutch national team, Gus Hiddink had the last laugh after their win yesterday. Hiddink a season campaigner himself, was quoted saying it is laughable how the media just turn on the manager or anyone so easily.

On the other hand the 2010 world champions look out of sorts as they conceded early in the first half. It appeared to pick up right where they left off in Seville on Friday night. Despite their 1-0 win over Ukraine, Spain were well below-par in the second half of the game, and nothing much looked to have changed in the opening stages of tonight’s game at the Amsterdam Arena.

First was De Vrij the central defender who scored past David De Gea in the 13 minute. The Lazio defender did well to meet Sneijder’s cross from deep on left side.

The second of the game came soon, this time Klaassen, who had ghosted into the penalty area unmarked, before being afforded two opportunities to beat De Gea following an initial stop from point-blank range.

There was a double change in the second half, but there wasn't much to be seen with Hiddink and Holland winning it comfortably.
