Players that could make Barcelona better

It’s very rare for a team like Barcelona to end a season without trophies but that’s how it had to be for them. They lost to arch-rivals Real Madrid in the Copa Del Rey courtesy to a blistering performance by the costliest player in the World, Gareth Bale.

They lost to Atletico Madrid in the Quarter Finals in the Champions League. They finished second in La Liga behind Atletico Madrid.

The Blaugrana now has deep concerns regarding their team as some of the players have aged, while others have chosen to leave the club. They need to find the right replacements for them.

They have already added tainted striker Luis Suarez, Stegen and Claudio Bravo among others.

Here’s a list of choices that could make the Barcelona squad better.

Jan Vertonghen: The Belgian has been on the Barcelona radar for quite some time as he can fit the centre-back position perfectly as a replacement for veteran Carles Puyol. He has come off an impressive World Cup campaign. He can defend very well and show off his attacking when needed, which he did in Brazil.

Koke:
The Atletico midfielder had a great season last year as his team won the La Liga title but lost to city rivals Real Madrid in the Champions League final. He was phenomenal for his team and he can fit into the Barcelona set-up and can also be a very good replacement for the ageing midfielder Xavi.

Julian Draxler:
The 20-year-old has had some eye-gouging performances for his club Schalke 04. He has a huge impact in his team’s attack and possesses the ability to create chances and makes it look easy. He could be a good addition for the Catalans.

Marco Verratti:
The young PSG starlet has been impressive for the French club and has also started in two games for Italy in the World Cup providing an assist. He can play both as an attacking midfielder and a defensive midfielder and can be a valuable addition to the ageing Barcelona side.

Juan Cuadrado:
The Colombian midfielder was monumental in his team making it to the Quarter-Finals, but sadly his dreams were put to halt by Brazil. He linked really well with staret James Rodriguez and was crucial for his team with his pace and vision. He had scored a goal and given 4 assists in the World Cup.
