Mirlam Pjanic bagged a brace to inspire AS Roma to a thrilling 4-2 win over Inter Milan.
The game started with Roma having the most of the ball as the crowd enjoyed the home team playing beautiful football. Ljajic came close to opening the scoring in the 18th minute, as a swift counter attack led by Gervinho ended up with the forcing Samir Handanovi?.
The attacking threat of Roma was seen as they eventually took the lead minutes later through a close range finish from Gervinho, after some good work by Ljajic.
Inter's Pablo Osvaldo nearly leveled score four minutes later but his volley from 12-yards was saved by Morgan De Sanctis.
But the first half grew interesting as Inter managed to square things up in the 36th minute through Captains, Andrea Ranocchia, who rose highest to head home into the far corner.
But Roma showed Inter why they were tipped to win the game as they scored another to take lead two minutes after the halftime break courtesy of a strike from Jose Holebas.
Mancini's Inter probed, as they leveled the score once again 10 minutes later, as Osvaldo's shot from took a wicked deflection and managed creep into the far corner. 2-2!
Roma hit back straight away, as Francesco Totti teamed up Miralem Pjanic, who showed great composure to slot into home from close range. 3-2 Roma led. The game went open as both the sides looked for a goal.
Juan Iturbe almost added a fourth in the 87th minute, the winger bet two defenders before firing a low effort inches wide.
Roma got their fourth in stoppage time and in spectacular fashion, as Pjanic curled home a sublime free-kick 25-yards to round off a good win for Rudi Garcia.
Juventus won earlier in the day, but Roma closed the lead as the won their bout against Inter.
