Shaqiri to Stoke City!
Stoke City agree a club record fee to land Swiss midfielder Xherdan Shaqiri. The news which has been widely reported by all the media outlets was first broken by Di Marzio and co.
Stoke City who have agreed a £12m deal with Inter Milan for whom Shaqiri signed with 6 months ago are yet to agree personal terms with the player.
The Swiss international was linked with a move to Liverpool in January, but decided to join Inter Milan. Even then, Stoke showed their interest in signing the fast and skillful player.
Apparently, there were two separate telephone conversations with the Inter manager, Roberto Mancini, who had convinced him to join the Italian club instead of moving to the Premier League.
Stoke City have agreed a £12m deal to sign Xherdan Shaqiri from Inter Milan, according to Sky Italia sources. Guglielmo Cannavale said that Inter have accepted a €17M offer from Stoke City for Shaqiri. Now, Stoke have to talk with the player and wait his decision.
The Potters pulled off a shock move for Bojan Krkic last summer and the Spaniard settled well at the club, being one of their best players before suffering a season-ending injury in January. Xherdan played 15 league games, scoring one goal, in the second half of the season after arriving in the January window.
