Spanish reporter Claims Xabi Alonso Left Spain Because Of Affair With Singer
Xabi Alonso moved Real Madrid to Bayern Munich this summer, a deal which can also be called as the strangest transfer of the transfer window. After winning the La Decima in May, Xabi Alonso extended his stay with the whites by signing a two year contract extension.
Xabi looked set to start his seventh season with the Galacticos, until he moved to Bayern in a deal which was confusing from the very beginning. Why would the midfielder want a move when he'd be starting all the possible games? Why would a player, who’s loved by the fans and the players both on and off the pitch want to leave the ten time Champions league winners. According to the Spanish journalist Federico Jiménez Losantos, the choice was less a vote for Bayern Munich than a chance to save his marriage.
That Mundo Deportivo article relays claim that Mrs. Alonso discovered an affair he was having with a Spanish pop singer Russian Red, and gave Xabi an ultimatum: leave Madrid or leave the marriage.
A song from the artist named "Xabier" was a clue about the affair and that helps to shed light on why the Xabi left Real Madrid for the German side.
