Steven Gerrard And Frank Lampard will sorely be missed
Ex-Scottish Midfielder Graeme Souness had made over 350 appearances for Liverpool in the 70’s and the 80’s firmly believes that the English Premier League is losing “two greats”. The Chelsea Icon and the Liverpool legend have over 30 years of top flight football amongst them. The Ex-English internationals are headed to MLS sides LA Galaxy and New York City.
“It’s going to be different in in the Premier League without these two,” Souness said. The league would have been a lot poorer without Gerrard and Lampard. They have been fantastic - both of them, in their own separate ways. They will be sorely missed by the neutrals, their own supporters and the guys they shared the dressing room with.”
“I would have loved to have played against them because I would have wanted to test myself against the very best. Newspapers write things and people on TV talk about the best players. If you’ve got anything about you, you'd want to compete against these two and see if you’re a match for them. These two are among the Premier League greats, they could have gone anywhere in the world and got in any team. They will be sorely missed.” He added.
Many players and coaches have spoken about the two greats, paying tributes, wishing them luck, etc. Mourinho recently stated that Gerrard was his favourite enemy and that he tried to sign him three times during his career. The Portuguese also stated that the Duo were definitely one of the best No.8’s in the world of football. Lampard has previously played under Mourinho during his spell at Chelsea.
