The South Indian Derby Kerala Blasters vs Chennaiyin FC

The race for semi-finals is hotting up by the day and two southern giants will be looking to get one up on each other. Table toppers will be looking to consolidate their position and seal their spot in the semifinal with a win in Kochi. Ditto can be said for Blasters who are in fourth place in the league table.

Key Battles

Iain Hume vs Dhanachandra Singh

Hume has been immense for the Blasters with his industry and goalscoring abilities this season. He will be looking to carry on his superb form into this derby as Blasters will be looking to stop Chennai’s applecart. But he will have Dhanachandra Singh in his way. Dhana has been a rock for Chennaiyin and he has been immense for Matterazzi’s tactics. A thunderous clash is on the cards.

Cédric Hengbart vs Jeje Lalpekhlua

Hengbart is known for his positioning while Jeje for his movement. This is going to be a battle of contrasts as both the players are in sublime form for their respective sides. Jeje has been in top form off late this season and he is filling in perfectly for Elano’s creativity.

Players to watch

Kerala Blasters

Sandesh Jhinghan – The Indian left back has been the find of ISL as he has shone brightly for David James’ side. He is making buccaneering runs down the left as he is assisting both in attack and defence.

Chennaiyin FC

Bernard Mendy

The French defender is one of the best players of Chennaiyin and he will be looking to carry on his good run of form.
