Wayne Rooney got his 100th cap for England and he celebrated it with a goal as the skipper led from front. Slovenia went into a shock lead thanks to a Jordan Henderson’s own goal in 58th minute. But England equalized within 40 seconds as Wayne Rooney earned a penalty for his side and powered the ball past Handanovic.
Then Danny Welbeck scored a brace in space of six minutes to kill all the hopes of a Slovenian comeback. Adam Lallana played an intregal part in England’s second goal while Kieran Gibbs and Raheem Sterling beautifully linked up to Welbeck’s second. Roy Hodgson’s boys are unbeaten in their Euro qualifiers this term.
