Real Madrid recently made a short film in honor of their three of the oldest fans. These three fans have been with the club ever since the 1940’s and have seen the club scale dizzying heights.
Three fans named, Sergio Nieto, Manuel Fernández-Guisasola, and Luis Andaluz who have supported only one club for their entire lives. These fans have been Merengues for almost 70 years. Tey are few fortunate ones who have witnessed the legendary Santiago Bernabeu. The Madrid legend dazzling the Old Chamartín ground and then the New Chamartín Stadium
One fan Manuel Fernandez had a dinner with the legend and vividly remembers his interaction with his icon.
IT WAS GREAT TO SPEAK WITH BERNABÉU, HE HAD PHENOMENAL IDEAS, SAYS MANUEL.
The veterans recall how they were just boys strolling on Sunday evenings to watch their beloved Los Blancos. The sheer magic on field that made them returns the Chamartin Stadium and later on, Santiago Bernabeu. They had the privilege of becoming members of the club in their teens.
One of the fans, Sergio represented his beloved club at U-13 level as an amateur. He had the good fortune of training with legends like Alfredo Di Stefano and Ferenc Puskas. The tales of these fans is simply heart-warming as they have seen it all from 11-1 defeat of Classico in 1940’s to their latest peak in La Decima and is the prime reason why we all love this beautiful game.
