Harry Kane powered the hosts to a thrilling derby win as they came back from a goal down to snatch all the three points. The win propels Spurs into UCL contention as they’re just a point behind Saints who are in 4th place at the moment.
The game began along the similar lines to Arsenal’s clash against City at Etihad. The Gunners sat deep and tried to hit Spurs on counter. The plan worked for some time as they were successful in holding them for considerable time. They also got into the lead using similar tactic as they hit Spurs on counter led by Danny Welbeck.
Mesut Ozil gave hosts lead inside 10 minutes as Welbeck’s run on the flank was unchallenged as he tried to set Olivier Giroud who in turn miscued his shot. The shot fell on Mesut Ozil’s feet and he made no mistake. From then on, it was end to end stuff.
Spurs were hitting Arsenal on the break and so were the Gunners. If not for their over defensive stance, the visitors could’ve sealed the game. But this gave the hosts a way back into the game.
Harry Kane opened the scoring in stunning fashion as he scored a typical centre-forward’s goal. It was all Spurs in second half as they threw the kitchen sink at them. After all those innumerable attacks, they finally found a way past Arsenal’s defense.
Harry Kane once again rose to the occasion, this time literally. A delicious cross from Nabil Bentaleb and a towering header from Kane gave the hosts a stunning derby win and completed a comeback.
