The news was harsh for every Chelsea fan when they heard that their beloved legend Frank Lampard wouldn’t be playing any longer with their club. It was actually a huge loss to Premier League as a player of Lampard’s stature was unfortunate enough to retire due to old age.

The legend’s departure left a unsinkable void in Chelsea’s midfield, which is crucial as the Club is among the favorites to clinch every trophy they play for. So the arrival of Cesc Fabregas was naturally very good news for them.

Fabregas, despite his performance was out of favor with their manager Tata Martino and got very less playing time. So he decided to make a £30 million move to the London outfit a direct rival to his former club Arsenal.

The 27-year-old signed a deal for 5 years and will be pocketing a salary of £200,000 per week. The signing comes after Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger deciding against buying the Spaniard back as his team already had ample amount of midfield talent.

The former Arsenal star also said that Barcelona tried to stop the transfer from happening.  He said: “I asked Barcelona to find a way for me to leave the club. The president tried to stop the sale, but I already had my mind made up."

"If I didn't think that I'd be happy at Chelsea, I would've never made this decision. Above all, I want to be happy both professionally and personally", concluded the Spanish national.
