Monday Blues: Top 3 fails of the week
Thibaut Courtois had a nightmare start of the season as he was given a red card, straight away, for a tackle on Bafetimbi Gomis. The Swansea man made a brilliant run, losing his mark in the 52nd minute, after which he was brought down by Chelsea’s Goalkeeper. Gary Cahill was unable to track Gomis’s run forcing Thibaut to take things in his own hands and a deft touch by Gomis while trapping the ball, ensured that the ball was away from Gomis when Courtois went in for the challenge thus getting him sent off.

Petr Cech who recently switched sides, made his debut for Arsenal this week. The Czech Republic international had a horrible start of the season as his mistake let West Ham take the lead towards the end of the first half. Cech moved away from the goal, trying to punch the ball away however, he completely failed to do so and moved away from the path of the ball thus ensuring an easy headed for Cheikhou Kouyate. It was 2 – 0 in the second half when Chemberlain’s mistake cost Arsenal another goal. Cech was partly responsible for the same as the replays clearly show the half-hearted attempt to dive and save the goal. West Ham hold 2 unique records of beating Arsenal, They were the last one’s to beat them at Highbury as well as the first side to beat them in Emirates stadium. Petr Cech’s nightmare continued post match as he was the butt of many jokes by fans all across the globe.
