31 year old Branislav Ivanovic is set to be handed a new four year contract


Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho has fought tooth and nail as he bends rule to give Chelsea right back Ivanovic a four year contract.



Chelsea who have an age policy where player who are 30 and above are handed only a 12 month contract which depends on their performance through the season.


But Branislav Ivanovic's form and consistency on both end of the pitch's has earned him a well deserved four year contract which will see him spend a decade since he joined the club in 2008.


Ivanovic a center back turned, right back has been brilliant all his career at Chelsea. His performances and the leadership skills on the pitch has seen him grow as a player with his stature among the young players growing too.


The Serbian has formed the new bread back bone of the club. Since Terry is getting no younger, Brana could well go on to become the new captain come in future.
