It was a proud moment for the fans of Indian football as well as Kolkata players. As it was a momentous and historic occasion for all of them. Atletico de Kolkata also known as Atletico Kolkata, were presented at their ‘home’ in Madrid.
Atletico Madrid officially unveiled their ISL franchise to their supporters in Spain and globally as well. The occasion took place at the half time in the match between Atleti and Celta Vigo. Atletico Kolkata have been on Spanish tour in a bid to prepare for the upcoming ISL.
They're training at Atletico Madrid's Los Ángeles de San Rafael training centre. They also played a few friendlies with local clubs. Atleti legend Adelardo Rodríguez, presented their sister club to the fans. He and Atletico Kolkata chairman Subrata Talukdar exchanged no 14 jerseys as they marked the birth of their Indian club, i.e 2014.
Atletico Kolkata return to Kolkata this week and will be raring to get on with the competition. They kick start their tournament with the inaugural match against Mumbai City FC at their home in iconic Salt Lake Stadium.
