Former Bundesliga champions Borussia Dortmund are having a nightmarish season as they have gone from bad to worse in no time. Jurgen Klopp’s side has struggled big time with the absence of their star striker Robert Lewandowski, who moved to Bayern on a free transfer this season.
Injuries and failure of the new boys to step up have sent BvB’s current turmoil as they are currently second from bottom with just 15 points from 17 games. Klopp was furious with his side’s performance and was ready to accept criticism.
'Any criticism that will be unloaded on us now is completely justified,' Dortmund coach Jurgen Klopp, who led them to the 2013 Champions League final, told reporters.
'It was a reflection of our season so far. We did not do it well in the first half. The good news today is that the year is over,' he said.
Even club captain Mats Hummels has accepted that he won’t be surprised if Le Borussien are relegated this season.
"There is no guarantee things will improve," was what German international had to say.
