Barcelona have already reached an agreement with Sao Paulo over the signing of right-back Douglas Pereira for around 4 million Euros. According to reports, Douglas Pereira will spend another season on loan at Sao Paulo.
With Barcelona struggling to find buyers for veteran Dani Alves due to his high wage demands, Luis Enrique and the board have decided to keep the Brazilian who has just a year left on his contract.
Speaking recently about Alves' situation and Barcelona transfer plans in the final weeks of the market, Luis Enrique said: "I've said it numerous times: He (Alves) is one of the squad members coming back later. Hopefully he's in our squad. I'm not saying the transfer market is closed for us. Not me, nor anyone at the club. You always look to strengthen the team and you always have to be the strongest."
After a disappointing season, the La Liga team are embarking on a huge summer overhaul. With the likes of Luis Suarez, Ivan Rakitic, Marc Andre Ter-Stegen, Claudio Bravo, Jeremy Mathieu and Thomas Vermaelen all already signed since the beginning of the summer, the search for a right back ends with the signing of Douglas Pereira.
