Celtic enters into a partnership with Goan club Salgaocar FC
In a landmark joint venture of Indian football, Scottish club Celtic FC has entered into a partnership with Salgaocar FC of Goa as a part of Celtic Club Partnership Programme. As a part of programme Celtic’s coaching staff will travel to Goa and share their expertise with the players of Salgaocar and help them in developing into better players matching international standards.
Celtic Chief Executive Peter Lawwell said, speaking on the occasion “The Celtic International Club Partnership Programme is a very exciting programme for the Club and we are delighted to welcome Salgaocar FC to be part of it and to the Celtic family.
"Celtic’s connection with India has been longstanding, however this is the first time we have developed a relationship with another professional club in this region. We are excited to see what can be developed from this unique relationship.”
The Bhoys have previously entered into a similar venture with Mahindra Group where they trained almost 3000 players and helped them develop into better players. This is the second time they are venturing into Indian football with Salgaocar.
