Defoe to train with Spurs

Former England star Jermain Defoe is set to return to his former club Tottenham Hotspurs to train in the close season. Defoe currently is with MLS side Toronto Raptors.

He will join Spurs to maintain fitness.

A Toronto spokesperson said: "The training period begins on Thursday and will run for one week."

Spurs added: "We can confirm Jermain Defoe will train with our development squad for the next week to maintain fitness during MLS close season."
