Everton boss Roberto Martinez is keen on signing his on-loan striker Romelu Lukaku on a permanent deal from League giants Chelsea.
This spells bad news for Tottenham Hotspur as they too were intent on acquiring the 21-year-old Belgian which means they will need to look into Wilfried Bony for their striking requirement.
According to reports, Lukaku asked his parent club to let him go so that he could practice his trade under Spaniard Martinez with whom he’s been successful.
He had had a poor World Cup campaign before he stepped up in the last couple of games to score a goal and provide an assist.
He was out of favor under Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho and now hopes to move away from his present club. The deal is said to be in the works.
However, it is still unsure about where the big Belgian will play next season as Jose Mourinho has stated that Chelsea are now 'finished' in the transfer market. We also saw Lukaku start his first few games with Chelsea last season and then get loaned out towards the end of the transfer window. Could that happen again?
