Fc Goa had a lead of 2-0 at halftime, as they just played around NEUFC defence as if they where non existent. Goa rounded up the score as they won by a margin of three at the end of the game, with goals Romeo Fernandes (33rd minute), Miroslav Slepicka (45+1) and Andre Santos (74th).
Goa started the game as they had an excellent crowd support behind them, ho played the role of twelfth man. They started match offensively, and created a few decent chances in the opening 15mins. But just after the stroke of half an hour, Romeo Fernandes infused spark in the match by breaking the deadlock in the 33th minute.
The team from NorthEast were literally struggling as their coach made a positive change, he brought in James Keene in place of Kondwani Mtonga. The incoming striker did cause problems but it was delt by Goa defence. Goa doubled their lead in first half added time as Striker Miroslav Slepicka drilled one past the NorthEast Keeper.
NorthEast tried to change the face of game as they introduced two new player at half time, bringing in Tomas Josi and Alen Deory in place of Isaac Chansa and Zodingliana.
The Highlanders tried hard and almost succeeded to reduce the deficit, but Goa keeper was the answer to them. But there were moments of nervousness for the home side, their keeper made a rare blemish when he failed to collect a chip from the left, but luckily the ball was cleared by a home team defender for safety.
With visitors doing all the hard work at the home end, the Goa side took advantage and played a counter attack and scored their third to the night to put the game to bed.
