FC Pune City: Belardi, Magliocchetti, Bruno, Maiti, Goossens, Mehta, Sarkar, Ravanan, Trezeguet, Katsouranis, Wadoo
Kerala Blasters FC: James, Hengbart, Chettri, Renedy, Pedro, Hume, Sabeeth, Hossain, Jhinghan, Pearson, Falvey
Kerala Blasters continued their strong run away from home as they came back from a goal down to register a 2-1 win over an inconsistent FC Pune City. This was first win of the season for David James and his boys.
David Trezeguet gave the hosts the lead as FC Pune looked in cruise control. CS Sabeeth pulled one back just before the interval and made the half all the more riveting. The first half began on a flat note as both sides played very cautiously.
Kerala looked like the dodgy of the two until they got that equalizer via Sabeeth. In second half, Kerala came into their own as they were looking a completely different side after the break. Pune were forced to substitute their star keeper Bellardi as he injured himself early on in the second half. Penn Orji came off the bench to score the winner for the visitors who are a formidable proposition away from Kochi.
Blasters are somewhat the journeymen of ISL. All of their points this season, including their maiden win today have been on the road. They are yet to register a single point at home. It may sound strange but Kerala are slowly becoming those plucky visitors who are hard to dismiss. Home away from home is perhaps an apt description of their current form.
