Overview:
Dortmund demolished a helpless Gala side as they scored four past Cesar Prandelli’s side. Dortmund who have had their of struggles in the league, played their natural game of high pressing and high tempo as the game saw Aubameyang as the number nine, with striker Ciro Immobile given rest.
Galatasaray lined up with a five man midfield but just couldn’t contain BVB’s explosive speed and start to the game. The match saw its first goal in the 6th minute as striker Aubmeyang was put through an excellent cross in the back post as the player made no mistake as he slotted it home.
As the game progressed, Gala LB Alex Telles made an adventures run and tried to whip in a cross which took deflection of Dortmund’s Piszczek and went out for a corner. Dortmund doubled their lead against the run of play, Piszczek went on marauding run down the right wing before firing a cross which was finished by Aubameyang, 2-0 Dortmund.
Dortmund completely dominated the half as the game saw, the victory sealed for the German side after Marco Reus struck a sweet shot from almost 30 yards out. Brilliant technique by the midfielder for the third goal. As the whistle blew for the end of first half, Dortmund lead by three goals to nil.
Second half was no different as the visitors started where they left, dominating possession. Gala captain came close to reduce the deficit as his shot was just whiskers away. Sven Bender was replaced by Ginter has he want of injured. With the game becoming dull, and Dortmund happy to keep the ball, Prandelli thought of giving his best player a rest as Alex Telles went off. The game saw Gundogan return to playing Champions league since the very first time this season. The match was rounded up by substitute Adrian Ramos who scored the fourth and final goal of the game.
