Uruguay have called up their cult striker back in the international team for the very first time since the 'Bite Gate'. The player who's banned from playing any official international matches for his country, is allowed to play friendlies as he appealed against the sanction for not allowing him to play friendly fixtures for his club as well as his country. The FIFA disciplinary committee reviewed this sanction and let the striker participate in friendly games.
The former Liverpool man who has moved to Barcelona on a 75M pound deal, looks set to make his re-entry into the football since biting Italian defender Giorgio Chiellini in the Brazil world cup. But the striker has to wait to make an official debut for his club side Barcelona. His very first appearance for the Catalan giants might come against their bitterest rivals, Real Madrid. With all going well till now, the only concern for Suarez right now is to prove himself as match fit to his coaches.
On the other hand, Uruguay coach Oscar Tabarez has not called up PSG striker Edison Cavani for the upcoming friendlies as he states, the Paris striker needs rest as he has already played a lot of matches in the absence of Zlatan.
On his new commitment, coach Tabarez told the press what will be their new focus:
"Obviously, we want to make a good run to earn a spot in Russia 2018. That has to be our biggest motivation. Since time is catching up on us, we want to do it with a new set of players, giving us more options for the future."
