Delhi Dynamos traveled to Kochi in search of three points but both sides played out a goalless draw. Both teams attacked with purpose but their defenses stood there and did what they where meant to do.
The match kicked off with Delhi seeing most of the ball with their intricate passing and keep the ball play. On the other hand, Kerala pressed high up and attacked the players as they played a counter attacking style of football.
Kerala where almost gifted a goal in opening minutes, when the visitors gave away possession just outside their own box. Delhi Keeper Van Hout and defender Ghosh however saved the day with the goalkeeper getting a hand on Stephen Pearson’s cutback and Ghosh nipping in to clear.
Van Hout was at work again as he made back to back saves to keep his side alive in the game as Kerala threatened to take the lead. Kerala even hit the post through Hume, who came back to the side after a injury concern in the last game which he sat out.
Kerala dominated proceedings in the first half as they put the Delhi defense in trouble again and again but the team from the capital withstood all the attack as the half ended as nil-nil.
Delhi were the team to start the game brighter in the second half after a whole load of attacks they sustained in the first.
They almost had the break when Del Piero won the aerial dual to win the first ball as his ball was put through to team mate Lalthamuana who did well to chip the keeper but his effort was off target.
Trevor Morgan brought on striker Milagres Gonsalves on to join Barisic and Hume in a three-pronged attack, as Kerala looked for a solitary goal.
But the change didn't have much impact, with Delhi creating an opportunity for themselves through Airas. With the game almost in the last minutes, both the sides still probed each other as the teams sought for a winner. And Delhi almost found through substitute Pavel Eliáš had a free header from a corner, but his shot was wide. It was to be the last action of a closely-fought match.
