Brazilian legend Ronaldinho has joined Mexican side Queretaro on a two year deal. He was released by Atletico Miniero as his contract came to close in July.
The 34 year old chose Twitter to announce his new move.
"I chose Mexico for the affection I have always received here. I am very motivated to represent Queretaro."
Queretaro have had their own share of problems as they were almost booted out of professional league in Mexico on allegations of corruption being levelled against them.
The former Barcelona forward received offers from England and India as well.
Non league club Basingstoke Town had made an audacious offer to the 2002 World Cup winner but things didn't work out for the English side. While the interest from Indian Super League side Chennai Titans was more concrete and looked like a done deal if the club sources were to be believed.
"We might have signed him in Rome itself had he been present. We will meet him again over the weekend and hopefully clinch the deal," the source said.
This has proved that this former Ballon d'or winner still has a queue of suitors in spite being at the end of his fabulous career.
