SEPT AND THE FOOTBALL MIND TO CROWDFUND FOOTBALL DREAMS OF UNDERPRIVILEGED KIDS

Nov 17, 2015 18:24

Sports & Education Promotion Trust (SEPT), India’s largest and only football nursery are joining hands with a Pune based sports networking firm The Football Mind for a noble cause. Established in 2004, SEPT is a Non-profit organization set up in the city of Calicut. SEPT’S initiative is known for providing training and quality facilities at the grassroots level and gives exposure to under privileged children at a tender age.The Football Mind, India’s largest and only professional football network, have joined forces in assisting SEPT’s unique initiative to get sponsors for these young prodigies.

“The Football Mind’s sole purpose of inception was to promote grassroots football and awareness of the game in India. This unique collaboration with SEPT will not only augment their noble cause of helping under privileged children who have the talent, but also provide SEPT a wider audience that they can approach.”

- Rohit Narayan (COO – The Football Mind)

SEPT aims at identifying football talent among children from underprivileged backgrounds through rigorous and well thought-out scouting sessions; they take care of these players and develop them through rigid residential programs. To achieve this, they have a set of basic expenses to cover for example food, stay, basic education and training. The Football Mind is initiating a crowd funding campaign to assist in SEPT’s noble cause. Together, they will use TFM’s enormous network to provoke football lovers across the globe to sponsor these young prodigies.

“Talent goes untapped in areas where sporting facilities are inadequate, and hence we are giving them these undiscovered talents the right training and facilities. With the help of The Football Mind we will be able to spread the awareness to the masses and urge them to sponsor these young lads.” - Arun Nanu ( Chairman – SEPT)

The portal for donations will be launched on 24th October, 2015. All the updates will be available on the football mind and their social media platforms regularly. All the donations will be used for the welfare of the students.

About SEPT

Sports & Education Promotion Trust (SEPT) was established to promote sports development in India with focus on football. Started in 2004 and based in Calicut, the trust has set up football training centres called “football nurseries” spread across 13 districts and Mahe. Majority of these centres are located in rural areas, one is in a tribal region. Given the huge potential in the tribal areas of Kerala which largely goes untapped due to financial constraints and lack of adequate sports infrastructure for the people of such area to pursue the game, the thrust of the initiative is on spotting and nurturing talent in rural parts of the country. Currently, SEPT has soccer nurseries in 51 centres . These include rural region, urban region, a tribal region and coastal region.
