The draft that determines the selection process of the 14 domestic players for each teams dictates that initially, the names of the teams (Excluding Goa and Guwahati) have been written on slips and placed in equal-sized envelopes. Once they’re readied, a member of the League is selected to pick the envelopes. The order in which they are picked will be the order in which they get to choose the domestic players. The teams will be labeled alphabets from A-F; Goa and Guwahati are already teams G and H.
The sequence selection has occurred today and and the Draft will commence at 10:00 a.m tomorrow (July 22nd) and continue to day-after (July 23rd). The first seven rounds occur on the 22nd and the last seven will be held on the 23d.
The draft pool consists of 84 players and an additional 7 players who are kept as reserves. Players cannot be selected from the reserve pool as they are meant to be employed in emergency situations only. During each round of the selection, each team is given a maximum of five minutes to pick their player and inform the authorities. If a team fails to choose a player within the allotted time, t is allowed to pick at the end of the particular time. If the choice isn’t made at the very last round, then the League exercises its authority and elects a player for the team that has filed to do so on its own. The players cannot be changed once the decision is made – it is binding.
