NZ brothers, Hugo & Lewis hog limelight


New Zealand national Hugo King, scored four goals, including a hat-trick to inspire his team Navy Blue to a 4-0 victory over the Orange team in the first round of matches of the Al Kabeer Mumbai Rush Soccer’s Champions League 1 tournament, played at the St. Pius Sports Ground, Goregaon.


300 players, picked by Mumbai Rush Soccer coaches over two months are in the fray in the age groups of u-10, u-12, u-14, and u-17, from which the best players will be selected for scholarships and free training in Mumbai and one among them who stands out will be sent to the US for training.


Hugo’s elder brother Louis King also had reason to celebrate after finishing joint top scorer in the u-12 age group along with MRS star player Sujal, both scoring three goals each for their respective teams.


In the under-17 category, Prathamesh Koli, Amit Lal, and Ranson Patel all scored hat-tricks for their teams to emerge top scorers.
