Top ten Steven Gerrard Moments at Liverpool

Stevie G has had many glorious moments at Liverpool in his 15 year career at Merseyside but we at TFM take a look at the ten very best of those moments.

1. 2005 Champions League Final – The Spirit of Istanbul still lives on Gerrard led the most dramatic of the comebacks in modern day UCL finals

2. 2006 FA Cup Final – Cometh the hour, cometh the man! The Kop icon rose to the occasion once again as Liverpool came from 2-0 down to win the FA Cup against West Ham at the Millennium stadium.

3. 2001 UEFA Cup Final – He scored in their UEFA Cup win as a teen sensation in 2001. This was Gerrard’s real rise to fame.

4. Being made Liverpool captain – Gerrard Houllier made a bold decision to make a young local lad the captain of the club. And boy how did he repay that!

5. Hat-trick in Merseyside Derby – He became the first player to score a hattrick in a Merseyside Derby since 1982 as he single handedly tore David Moyes’ Everton to shreds with a sublime hat-trick. Truly it was Gerrard all the way.

6. Magic in Manchester – He and Fernando Torres ripped apart a mighty Manchester United side in Old Trafford as Liverpool thumped them 4-1. It was Gerrard’s superb play that undid United along with Torres’ lethal finishing.

7. Last season’s title charge – This was the closest Steven Gerrard and Liverpool have got close to win the Premier League in almost two decades. ‘This does not f---king slip!’ still echoes at the Anfield.

8. Brilliance in Greece – In 2005’s title winning UCL campaign, Stevie G scored a screamer against Olympiakos in the dying moments of a do or die tie. And then as they say the rest is history.

9. The first goal – He announced himself to the World with his brilliant strike against Sheffield United when he scored the third goal for Liverpool in their 4-1 win.

10. The debut – It has to be in this list. Period. All those records wouldn't had been made if he hadn't got his chance.
