As Manchester United fans flew a plane which said "Come Home Ronaldo", it had little or no pressure on the man himself who had set his sight on the 10th Liga goal for the season.

The game was entertaining, as both the sides played decent amount of attacking as well as defensive football. With Villarreal dominating the play most of the first half. But it was Real Madrid, who broke the deadlock as the Croat Luka Modric scored at the half hour mark.

As Villarreal continued their brand of attacking football, forcing Casillas save a few very good chances. As the game progressed, Real Madrid doubled their lead through their star man, Cristiano Ronaldo at 40 minutes as the half time came to an end.

With second half being played as the first, it was attack versus defense, when Villarreal attacked, or vice versa. Villrreal fuffled lots of chances on goal as they just couldn't score in the night, with Casillas saving a point blank effort from a Villrreal player. As Ronaldo continued his rich vein of form, and secured points for Real Madrid in the table, it see the Madrid club sit 5th on the points table.
