FC Goa vs NorthEast United – Preview

Goa will be looking to capitalize on their good run of form and their rivals’ poor run. Goa currently sit in fourth place but a win could see them leapfrog to second spot and one step closer to semifinals.

Goa welcomes a patchy NorthEast who are struggling to string a series of good results. This is exactly what Zico will be pleased to see when his team is just 3 steps away from semifinals.

Key Battles

André Santos vs Massamba Lô Sambou

They are the most in-form players of their respective sides. Santos helped Goa secure a crucial win with a goal and assist whereas Sambou’s brace helped in his side’s revival of fortunes. They are surely going to be key for their sides and will be looking to continue their rich vein of form.

Bikramjit Singh vs Koke

Bikramjit has been rock solid for Zico’s flamboyant side. He provides them with stability in midfield when all their players are looking to bomb forward at every possible opportunity. He will face a deadly attacker in Koke. Koke statistically is only bettered by Chennaiyin’s Elano but he has been equally important for his side.

Players to watch

Goa

Romeo Fernandes – The local lad has been a revelation this season. He has been very impressive for the western side as he rightly earned praise from his fellow Goan and legendary Indian footballer. He is regarded as one for the future and he is showing why!

NorthEast

TP Rehenesh – For the umpteenth time he is featured in this section, this shows everyone how good he has been for the Highlanders.
