Kerala Blasters and NorthEast United played out a goalless draw, as the home side did themselves no favour as they chase a place in the top four. Kerala and NorthEast played a hard fought game at the Jawaharlal Nehre Stadium in Cochin.
Both sides where desperate to get all three points as that would have kept them in the running. But the match saw 4 yellows and a red during the course of the game. James Keene of NorthEast was awarded the red card as he was sent off on the 75th minute for a violent reaction after he was brought down by English striker Chopra.
The started with the home side kicking off, as the first read chance of the game came at the 22nd minute when Milagres-Stephen Paul Person combined to create a chance, as the shot was saved by Rehenesh.
But it was NorthEast who could have taken the lead, in the 24th minute. As they had a corner, which was headed by Miguel Garcia but was cleared of the line by Mehtab.
The score half time remained nil-nil.
As the two teams stepped on the pitch unchanged, the change of sides did make bit of a difference as both the sides attacked and played an open brand of football.
Kerala defence was proving a tough nut to crack as they sustained attack after attack. Kerala though did breach NEUFC's defence a couple of times but just couldn't finish their chances off. As the game was coming to a close, Kerala substitute Andrew Barisic thumped a shot from outside the box but Rehenesh stood strong and pulled of a brilliant save.
