Chennaiyin FC thrash Mumbai City in the return leg of ISL 3-0 to steer into a clear three point lead at the top of the table.


A hat-trick of second half goals give Chennaiyin a comfortable win over Mumbai. Mumbai and Chennaiyin both made changes to their lineups as they were forced to do so because of injuries. Pelissari scored the opener in 71st minute to break the deadlock.




Two set pieces in late in the second half outdid Mumbai’s stubborn defence. Dhanachandra Singh doubled the lead as he scored through a Jairo Suarez free-kick in the 81st minute. Eight minutes later, substitute Hidalgo scored a screamer of a freekick to kill the tie.




Peter Costa and Subrata Paul had a nightmare of a seond half which led to Mumbai’s heavy defeat. This loss sees Mumbai on 6th spot levelled on points with Goa and Pune.
