Peruvian striker survives lightning strike!

Peruvian João Contreras survives after being struck by lightning during game


A literally 'shocking' event took place in the Cup match of Peruvian league, as lightning struck a player and an assistant ref as the match was in progress. The match was then suspended and the player received medical treatment.



Initially it was reported that, player Joao Contreras died, as he was taken to hospital in a non moment state. But later it was revealed that, the player survived and is being treated for shock.


Contreras who was struck by the lightning, suffered second-degree burns, he is in a stable condition and recovering in hospital.


A Peruvian newspaper celebrated Contreras’s remarkable survival with the banner: “Man stronger than nature”.
