Real Madrid returned back to winning ways with a comfortable 2-0 win over Deportivo La Coruna at Bernabeu as Isco and Karim Benzema’s goals in either half did the needful.
Real was flabbergasted by a 4-0 thumping by Atleti in the derby and were looking for a morale boosting win. Isco opened the scoring in 22nd minute as he curled the ball past Fabricio after he received the ball from Alvaro Arbeloa. Deportivo was non existent for major parts of the half as Riera struggled to hold his own against a makeshift Madrid defence.
Karim Benzema silenced his critics as he scored the winner by dunking the ball past Fabricio. The Frenchman latched on to the pass from Ronaldo. The 72nd minute strike was much needed for both Ronaldo and Benzema as both of them are under high scrutiny for below par performances in recent games.
Real superstars Bale and Ronaldo were undeniably subdued for most of the game as they failed to make any noteworthy impact on the game. Ronaldo’s assist to Benzema’s goal was his lone highlight of the game.
The win gives Los Blancos a comfortable four point lead at the top of La Liga as Carlo Ancelotti is determined to wrestle the crown back from their neighbors.
